Mario Messina

Mario’s career in woodworking began in 1983 in Roseburg, Oregon, where he apprenticed in a small cabinet shop for three years. In 1987 he opened his own woodworking shop in Vermont. Over the years his work progressed into studio furniture making, which had always been his dream.  In addition to running a full time furniture studio in Windsor, Vermont, Mario is also a part time woodworking instructor at Dartmouth College's Hopkins Center.

 “Designing and building objects of grace, beauty, and utility is a satisfying and worthy pursuit. The creative process is for me an adventure, each piece has something to teach me about good design and technique and what is possible with the materials I’m working with.”
